The “Prince of Preachers,” Charles Haddon Spurgeon, wrote, “Courage, you that prayerfully work and toil for Christ with success of the very smallest kind, it shall not be so always; BETTER TIMES are before you. Your eyes cannot see the BLISSFUL FUTURE: borrow the TELESCOPE OF FAITH; wipe the misty breath of your doubts from the glass; look through it and behold THE COMING GLORY.”
THE COMING GLORY: OUR KINGDOM REIGN WITH THE LORD is a “telescope of faith” focused on the “blissful future” that Spurgeon foresaw. A blend of in-depth biblical study and creative imagination, the 100,000-word narrative nonfiction is targeted at readers of Christian Inspiration, Bible Prophecy, Global Issues, Self-Help and Society. With its broad and revolutionary perspective of the expected earthly kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ, it unveils the ultimate earthly purpose and reward of the believer, giving greatest meaning and encouragement to the pursuit of faith, and hope to the world at large in the midst of present troubles.
The book takes its lead from the testimony of the twenty-four Elders and four Beasts (likened to a lion, a calf, a man and an eagle) of the biblical Revelation: “For thou was slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of EVERY KINDRED, AND TONGUE, AND PEOPLE, AND NATION; and hast made us unto our God KINGS AND PRIESTS: and WE SHALL REIGN ON THE EARTH.” It reveals how the characterizing attributes of these five (the Elders as a group and the four Beasts) reflect the same number of fundamental categories of human endeavor that impact world progress, and goes on to project a revolutionary and fascinating picture of how they symbolize the command and primary divisions of the “Armies of Heaven” – a biblical concept shown to be largely allegorical and ultimately captured as a super global organization, the ZION MISSION, also known as the NEW JERUSALEM MISSION – that will oversee and dominate every facet of the society of a dramatically altered and remarkably reorganized world, the millennial kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ. The ultimate goal of this thousand-year dispensation, which introduces some amazing political, technological, industrial, social and cultural innovations, and brings about a new and extraordinary lifestyle and experience for the saints, is the creation of a global architectural masterpiece, the eternal New Earth.
The projected picture of this “golden future time” is brightened, sharpened and made very realistic by dipping into an impressive reserve of biblical, contemporary and secular types, shadows, events and witnesses. Prominent among these is TIME magazine’s milestone publication, the TIME 100 Series, a buildup towards selecting the Person of the 20th Century, which amazingly identifies the same five major categories of human endeavor represented in the “more excellent pattern” of the Armies of Heaven. Others include George Orwell’s classic ANIMAL FARM, Napoleon Hill’s landmark THINK AND GROW RICH, Tim LaHaye’s brilliant WHY YOU ACT THE WAY YOU DO, Rick Warren’s bestselling PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE, and Myles Munroe’s challenging REDISCOVERING THE KINGDOM.
